Terms & Conditions
Our Services
SORTD provides home and workspace organizing services designed to create functional, refined, and sustainable spaces.
Our work focuses on organization and system design. While light, surface-level tidying may occur within the workspace, SORTD is not a cleaning service. Environments requiring deep cleaning or containing excessive debris or unsanitary conditions are not suitable for our services.
Service Offerings
The Reset(4+ hours)
A focused, in-depth transformation of one single space.
The Flow(6+ hours or multi sessions)
A comprehensive organizing session designed for two connected spaces (e.g., bedroom and bathroom).
Each service is tailored to the client and confirmed in advance of booking.
A guided walkthrough (up to 30 minutes) is included within the session
During the walkthrough, clients are introduced to their newly organized space and shown how to maintain it
If the client is unavailable at the end of the session, a summary may be provided at SORTD’s discretion.
Furniture Assembly & Installation Terms
We offer professional assembly of freestanding flat-pack furniture.
Wall mounting is available as an add-on for small-to-medium items only and requires a signed consent form.
All wall mounting is performed at the client’s risk after proper assessment. We are not liable for failures due to improper use, overloading, or pre-existing wall conditions.
We do not mount heavy or structural items.
Consultations
SORTD offers a complimentary 15-minute virtual consultation via FaceTime or Google Meet to assess your space and project goals.
In-person consultations may be available upon request and are subject to a consultation fee and applicable travel charges.
Bookings & Retainers
A booking is confirmed once the scope of work, service type, and date have been agreed upon.
A non-refundable retainer of $100 is required to secure your appointment
The remaining balance is due upon completion of the session unless otherwise arranged
This retainer reserves dedicated time in our schedule and is applied toward your final service total.
Cancellations & Rescheduling
We understand that plans may change.
Changes made with 48 hours’ notice may be rescheduled with the retainer applied to a future date
Changes made within 24 hours will result in 50% of the retainer being forfeited. The remaining 50% may be applied to one rescheduled appointment, to be used within 60 days.
Client Preparation & Responsibilities
To ensure a seamless experience:
Clients are responsible for final decisions regarding belongings (keep, donate, discard)
Clients must remove or secure sentimental, irreplaceable, or high-value items prior to the session
Clients agree to provide clear access and consent for entry into the designated work areas
Clients are strongly encouraged to have a designated adult present during the session and must confirm who this will be in advance
Notify our team in advance if surfaces require protection (e.g., delicate flooring, countertops)
Failure to communicate special requirements may limit our ability to accommodate them.
We are not responsible for items that were not removed or identified prior to the session.
Children and Pets Safety
Children and pets must be supervised at all times and kept at a safe distance from active work areas
Organizing sessions may involve moving items, shifting furniture, and creating temporary staging zones, which can present safety risks
We cannot guarantee a child- or pet-proof environment during the session
To maintain safety and efficiency:
Work areas should remain clear of interruptions
Team members cannot monitor or supervise children or pets at any time
Clients may be asked to temporarily relocate children or pets from the workspace if safety becomes a concern
Services may be paused or discontinued if the environment is deemed unsafe due to insufficient supervision or interference.
Scope of Access
Our team will only access pre-approved areas within the home or workspace.
If required for workflow efficiency, items may be temporarily relocated to an adjacent space (e.g., storage room) with client awareness. No additional areas will be accessed without consent.
Product Sourcing
We prioritize working with items that you already have available in your home.
Additional products may be introduced if they will enhance the functionality and longevity of the space.
Recommendations may be provided for the client to purchase independently at their convenience
Products may be sourced during the session if appropriate and agreed upon
In some cases, follow-up sourcing may be recommended once the space has been fully assessed
Any purchases made on behalf of the client will be discussed and approved in advance and will be billed accordingly.

Travel is included within a 15 km radius of downtown Winnipeg.
Projects outside this area may be subject to the following travel fees:
15–25 km → $25 travel fee
25–40 km → $50 travel fee
Beyond 40 km → travel may be quoted at $0.65/km (round trip)

Health, Safety & Professional Boundaries
The safety of both clients and team members is a priority.
We reserve the right to refuse or discontinue service at any time if the environment or circumstances are deemed inappropriate, unsafe, or outside the scope of professional standards.
Clients must disclose any known or recent issues involving bedbugs, rodents, or other infestations prior to booking.
If such conditions are present or discovered during a session, services may be terminated immediately without refund.
